Dispensing and administration

Theriak Medication Management (TMM) supports the work of the nursing staff by making the dispensing and administration process as safe and time efficient as possible.

In the uniquely easy to use interface, all dispensing information is readily accessible to the nursing staff, vastly improving the communication with the pharmacy.  This allows the nursing staff to determine when rounds can be made, whether information or medication is missing or if all dosages for anti coauglant treatments have been prepared. All medical staff can view at any time what medication specific patients are due to receive, when and in which dosage.

Automated dispensing

Where required TMM fully supports unit dose dispensing and is a key part of the largest unit dose installations in Europe. Most of these installations provide automated dispensing using fully robotised virtual pharmacies. TMM monitors the automated dispensing process giving the nursing staff accurate, real time information on each step.

When coupled with Theriak Logistics, TMM supports automated dispensing using multiple pharmacies or multiple stocks per pharmacy in order to optimize usage of pharmacy stocks..

Safe and fast administration

The fundamental aim with any medication management system is to ensure that the correct patient gets the correct medication at the correct time and in the correct dosage - every time.  TMM offers hospitals barcode bedside verification functionality that greatly increases safety.

As patients are admitted, they are issued with a wristband containing a barcode with their medical information. In the dispensing process, the prescribed medication is issued with a barcode that corresponds to the one on the patients wrist. TMM will halt the administration process if the barcodes do not match.

This functionality is easy to use and saves the nursing staff valuable time that can now be spent caring for patients.

Bedside verification can be performed by using hand-held devices in TMM. This provides the nursing staff with optimal support for quickly and safely registering all relevant information during the rounds.
