ChemoCare® Chemotherapy ePrescribing
Solution from CIS Oncology Ltd |
| | CIS Oncology Ltd has been awarded the contract to provide Mount Vernon Cancer Network with its chemotherapy eprescribing solution, ChemoCare®. The system will provide an e-prescribing solution for adult and paediatric, solid tumour and haematological oncology across the cancer network which consists of three NHS Trusts within Hertfordshire and South Bedfordshire - Luton & Dunstable Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust and West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. The solution will be delivered in collaboration with CSC and will be hosted in its remote data centre environment.
Dr Peter Ostler, clinical chair for cancer services with the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, which manages the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, said: "The cancer network is looking forward to working with the team at CIS Oncology to put in place an electronic prescribing system that will benefit all of our patients."
ChemoCare® is the leading electronic chemotherapy prescribing software in use across the NHS within over 60 hospitals. The final selection was made because of the solution’s unique ability to meet both the National OBS for chemotherapy prescribing; the specific local functional needs of the network’s clinical chemotherapy services and infrastructure challenges of the network’s IT infrastructure. The overriding strategic objectives of the network included:
To improve patient care outcomes by treating patients effectively, efficiently and safely. To ensure a high quality patient experience by improving access to appropriate resources and offering patient choice. To ensure capture of data and information to enable access and report on activity.
Tony Pegg, Chief Executive Officer of CIS Oncology said: I am delighted that Mount Vernon Cancer Network has chosen ChemoCare® for their electronic chemotherapy prescribing system. This award demonstrates our ability to work in partnership with CSC to deliver the unique requirements of the Cancer Network. We are looking forward to working together with CSC and the Network on this implementation.”
Neil Spencer, Senior Executive for CSC Healthcare for this project said: “This award exemplifies CSC‘s commitment to delivering patient centred healthcare solutions. We believe the arrangement enables both ourselves and CIS Healthcare to come together and focus on our core business strengths for the improvement of healthcare services within the cancer network.”
