to implement ChemoCare® from CIS Oncology Ltd |
| | CIS Oncology Ltd has been awarded the contract to provide Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust with a Pharmacy Oncology Dispensing System.
Southend Hospital is opening a new Oncology Day Centre to meet the increased demand for chemotherapy and the new building will provide bigger and better facilities. ChemoCare®, incorporating the new ChemoSchedule module, will support all aspects of chemotherapy dispensing activities; including chemotherapy dispensing worksheets, treatment/patient labels, dispensing and storage details.
Initially the system will meet the requirements for the Oncology Pharmacy, and has the capacity to be expanded into the prescribing and management of all aspects of oncology chemotherapy in the future. It is anticipated that ChemoCare® will be implemented in time for the opening of the new Oncology Day Centre this year.
Jo Middleton, Service Development Pharmacist at Southend University Hospital said: “We are pleased to be working with CIS and are confident that the system will allow us to efficiently manage our expanding chemotherapy service from patient referral and treatment scheduling to the preparation and administration of chemotherapy drugs.”
ChemoCare® is the leading electronic chemotherapy prescribing software in use across the NHS within over 60 hospitals. CIS also now offers an integrated solution for chemotherapy and general ePrescribing through its new medicines management solution, Theriak.
Tony Pegg, Chief Executive Officer of CIS Oncology said: “We are delighted that Southend University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has chosen ChemoCare® for its chemotherapy dispensing. We have worked closely with the Trust to tailor our implementation approach to align with their tight timescales for the opening of the new Oncology Day Centre. We look forward to continuing this mutually successful relationship.” |
