Oncology Solutions
ChemoCare®
ChemoCare® is a comprehensive prescribing and management system which supports adult and paediatric, solid and haematological oncology. It is the only true paediatric solution and was developed in conjunction with the UKCCSG.
ChemoCare® may be introduced as a solution for a single hospital or as a total solution across a part or a total network with multiple oncology pharmacies; each pharmacy is able to manage prescriptions, worksheets and labels independently. ChemoCare® is a modular solution which allows networks to build incrementally on the investment already made.

ChemoCare® uses agreed protocols for prescribing meaning that inequalities of care are reduced and consistent standards of care are achieved. “Start up” time is minimised through the provision of over 200 UK and international chemotherapy protocols. Decision points within these protocols ensure that waste and inappropriate treatment are minimised.
ChemoCare® and allows treatment protocols to be electronically transferred from other Cancer Networks. This is of particular benefit in paediatric oncology where sharing of best practice is crucial but also provides the opportunity for the immediate implementation of NICE guidance. The ability to share and transfer protocols also saves the duplication of high value clinical resource in protocol development, maintenance and update.
ChemoCare® has been shown to deliver significant reductions in prescribing and prescription errors. Automatic drug calculations, rigorous safety features and the tracking of patients ensures that errors and waste are minimised.
Clinical trial regimes are included within ChemoCare® in order that the maximum access may be offered to patients. The availability of real time diagnostic data also assists clinicians in their decision as to a patient’s trial eligibility. Outside clinical trials, ChemoCare® provides the opportunity to learn new knowledge about the outcomes and the patient’s experience associated with treatments given in real clinical settings.
ChemoCare® facilitates the effective organisation of resources, improved collaboration between departments and the ability to track patients through the system which results in increased efficiency and reduced waiting times. Specific treatment notes may be recorded for individual patients thus improving their overall patient journey.
Joint chemo-radiation protocols, which are at the forefront of clinical oncology, may be prescribed and managed through the unique integration of ChemoCare® and RTCare.
ChemoCare® is a powerful and flexible management tool. Routine collection of rich clinical data provides a wealth of information to support the clinical audit and the management of cancer services including future resource and workload planning. Numerous standard reports are available but total flexibility is also offered through the use of standard business intelligence packages.

ChemoSchedule
Over the past decade, new and innovative medicines have enhanced survival rates and quality of life for cancer sufferers across the world. However, with these advancements have come unprecedented levels of complexity. Today’s cancer drugs demand complicated preparation, difficult administration, and with many different treatment regimens, countless combinations of drug doses.
The result is cancer treatments that improve survival but complicate healthcare services, cause delays, increase workloads, while potentially compromising treatment plans and safety.
Breaking the barriers to treatment
There is a solution. Available as part of our ChemoCare® system, ChemoSchedule is a unique tool that manages the challenging tasks involved in delivering chemotherapy treatments.
The system automatically schedules appointments to manage the treatment day of any cycle of chemotherapy, freeing already stretched staff from this administrative burden. However, while ChemoSchedule takes care of these responsibilities, clinicians always remain in control of defining priorities. What’s more, unlike other scheduling systems which are separate from the prescribing process and require individual maintenance, ChemoSchedule is integrated within the clinical processes of ChemoCare®.

RTCare
RTCare has been designed to support the delivery of high quality care for patients undergoing radiotherapy. The advanced scheduling tools enable patients to receive a complete pathway of planned appointments even for the most complex treatment regimes. During the treatment process relevant clinical and technical information is available to all healthcare professionals involved in delivering care in a secure and easy to use environment. A well-structured data set assists with accurate reporting, auditing and resource management.
Key features
Unique scheduler designed by radiographers enables all pre treatment and treatment appointments to be scheduled in one go.
Links to record and verify systems to download patient demographic information; streamline the selection of patients from the linear accelerator record and verify system and collects radiation beam data for records and reporting.
Records all key radiotherapy data items for the minimum cancer dataset, HRG mapping, capacity and demand mapping.
Uses Microsoft Word based letter templates making letters and associated patient documentation locally customisable which can be used to generate personalised patient information.
Advanced diary system, which is locally customisable to manage treatment machines, simulators, CT sessions, clinics and peripatetic staff.
Protocol based booking including a resource booking template to simplify the booking process. Joint protocols with ChemoCare® allow management of chemo-radiotherapy regimes.
Easy access to treatment histories, scheduling information, appointment manipulation, using simple icon based tools.
Unique patient based access to all treatment information, pathology results and patient support notes via a single window.
Waiting list management tools which support real time waiting list information.
Links to ChemoCare® to ensure that up to date information is available at the point of care for chemotherapy, radiotherapy and combined treatments.
Interfaces
ChemoCare® and RTCare interface with hospital PAS and Pathology systems to automatically obtain patient demographics and laboratory results for improved safety and security of treatments.
Interfaces to other systems and equipment, e.g. pharmacy stock control or linear accelerators can also be provided to provide seamless workflow.
