Why choose CIS
Why choose CIS Oncology?
Specialist knowledge and experience
With more than 30 years’ experience within the healthcare industry, CIS Oncology has been providing leading clinical care systems to the NHS since 1989.
We identified a need early on for an electronic tool that would simplify the chemotherapy prescribing process, making it safer and more efficient for patients and clinicians. Combining our team’s expert knowledge with further research and development, we launched the first version of our automated chemotherapy prescribing system – ChemoCare - in Leeds General Infirmary in 1996.
This was followed shortly afterwards by a version for paediatric chemotherapy prescribing. It also saw the introduction of our revolutionary Protocol Prescribing tool which used ‘decision trees’ to aid clinical decision-making and was quickly adopted by NHS Trusts.
As a forward-thinking company committed to innovation, CIS Oncology is constantly investing in new technology to ensure the very best products. As a part of continual research and development (R&D), our specialist staff regularly refine and adapt our software ensuring that our systems remain user-friendly, efficient and secure, as well as being fully scalable and robust.
Using an NHS compliant state-of-the-art Cloud-based platform, we have also developed unique software which allows us to integrate 17+ hospitals into a single system.
Working closely with our clients, we constantly engage with NHS Trusts and the people who actually use our systems, obtaining crucial operational feedback which helps us reassess our product functionality and services. As part of this, we gather information from several focus groups every year, ensuring that our products continue to meet customer needs.
Commitment to quality
At CIS Oncology we work with a team of experts who are constantly updating their skills and knowledge through professional development. We invest in our staff through training and flexible working and recently introduced Health Shield to our employees, a company sponsored Health Cash Plan. We are always actively looking at ways in which our staff can work innovatively.
From August 2019, CIS are working with the University of Ulster to provide professional placements, as part of our commitment to the community and upskilling the next generation.
